You can smell the savory significance of the season simmering and sizzling in the air, as once again come to that special time of year when the most important decisions are made about the fate of our country! This is the time when preferred leaders are chosen over “2nd and 3rd choice candidates by the votes of the people!
That was precisely the situation that occurred recently at Prospect Park in Brooklyn New York, where a gathering of fine, upstanding Americans, the Brooklyn Bacon Party came together to decide about a matter of great national interest. The question at hand: Which bacon would me declared #1. Would it be the perceived front-runner, Bacon Freaks’ Cajun Style, or perhaps the very new on the scene, young up and coming “Private Reserve Sun Dried Tomato Bacon,” or “Honey BBQ Rubbed Bacon.”

On a recent Saturday afternoon in October, an assembly of fine Americans gathered in Prospect Park, Brooklyn to celebrate what can only be described as one of the purest, most joyful man-bacon love fests the world has ever seen: the Brooklyn Bacon Party. While our numbers were modest, our hearts, and stomachs, were fully committed to working our way through a tasting of about twelve pounds of bacon.
Our party was blessed with the quasi-sponsorship of Rocco from BaconFreak.com who graciously provided us with four glorious packages of gourmet bacon (in addition to some other sweet merchandise). Included in the shipment were Cajun Style Hickory Smoked Country Bacon, Private Reserve Sun Dried Tomato Bacon, and Honey BBQ Rubbed Bacon. The Cajun-style bacon was by far the most highly anticipated among party-goers, and turned out to be the favorite of the group, yet each variety was incredibly tasty and seasoned to perfection. The bacon was prepared on the open grill by a rotating troop of master chefs, and most was served au naturel so tasters could fully appreciate the unique flavor of each selection.

Regarding his notorious, news making “high carb” packing dietary regime & training practices, Michael Phelps says that his days are a blur of massage and ice baths, sleeping and eating and as it turns out, he is talking about lots of eating.
“I have been eating a lot of pasta and pizza, a lot of carbs,” said Phelps, who recently succeeded in earning a total of eight Gold Medals in the Olympics, more than any other human in recorded history.
